The stage manager, in my mind, is a vital part not only of the production process but the creative process. Stage managers, like dramaturgs, get to know an entire show from the inside out. I love the process of learning a show, and even more, I love the satisfaction of pulling it all together and making it click along in performance. I particularly enjoy ASMing and running deck crew.
